charlie-building-confidence

There are a lot of things in our world that has the ability of frightening our dogs. This is a case we are currently working on with a 2 year old beagle that was rescued from Hillsborough County Animal Shelter. Charlie was found as a stray, heartworm positive and also developed an upper respiratory infection while at the shelter.

He was set to be euthanized before the team at FPAR.org stepped up and had him pulled. You could tell that charlie was a timid dog from day one. His tail tucked, ears down and the uncertainty in his eyes clearly showed how much he just needed someone for him to look up to and depend on.

After a couple weeks of medications to fight his URI infection and prohibit any further damage from the heartworm, Charlie began showing significant improvement. While it took a period of roughly two weeks, slowly introducing him you could tell that he was happy, playing with his foster brothers and sisters.
